Space is also a consideration. It can be tough looking at an empty house and deciding whether or not it has enough space for all your stuff. One simple way would be to compare the house or apartment you are living in how, with the house you are thinking of living in. If they are comparable, then you possible have a good deal on your hands.

The neighborhood is also an important consideration. Nobody wants to move into a bad neighborhood. One way to check is with the local police station. They keep crime statistics on all the areas, so you know if something is wrong with the area you are thinking of living in. Another thing to check is what kinds of schools are in the area. Take a look at them during the day, and see how they look. If you see good, studious students, then you are in luck. However, if you see drug dealers and hear gun shots, then it’s probably not a good neighborhood.

How clean the neighborhood is can also be a sign. If people put out there trash in a nice organized manner, and there aren’t any used cars strewn about on people’s lawns, then it’s a good deal. Also it might be a good idea to drive through at night, and see how quiet the place is. If you hear loud music coming from every house and parties on every other corner, you might want to choose another location.

When you apply these simple tests, you’ll have a much better chance of finding your dream home. Now get out there and start looking.
